I grew up a dancer, which allowed me to be surrounded by beautiful things. Whether that be the detailed costumes we wore or the backdrop of the stage that complimented ourperformance, the atmosphere was an early introduction to appreciating things of beauty. Even as a little girl, I was constantly rearranging my room. I guess that was an early indication of things to come. Fast forward in my life, with two sweet boys and two border collies later, I found myself working as a registered nurse. It was there that I experienced first-hand how much surroundings can impact mood, productivity, and rest. Unlike the stage, I danced across in my perfectly designed costume as a girl, the hospital space communicated in a tone that was cold, sterile, and uninviting. While working as a nurse, I embarked on my passion to study the world around me and how it relates to design. I received my design certificate from Parson’s and earned the title of Maria Killam Certified True Color Expert™. When my husband and I purchased our own fixer-upper, my dreams had space to flourish. From there, I started helping friends and family with their homes, and JLL Interiors was born. Now, living in the suburbs of Georgia, it is my desire to bring the outdoors inside, shaping interiors that invite hearts to rest and feel that they are where they long to be.

 

When not designing, you can probably find me curled up with a good book, antiquing, or enjoying a meal al fresco with my husband.
