I am overdue for an update for you all with our One Room Challenge master bath progress. Sadly, It has been a little quiet with the bathroom renovation. Just this last week we started to gain some traction. We hit our first snag in the project 2 weeks ago with our pocket door. I chose the most difficult pocket door hardware to install (unknowingly). So much so that Brett did not feel comfortable DIYing it. For the pocket door, we had to custom order a door slab which was incredibly hard to find. If we were to make a mistake installing the hardware, there would be a strong chance we would need to start over and order another door slab. So after some scrambling and a few phone calls, we sent the door off to be professionally mortised. We should get the door back Tuesday and then we can paint and install!
POCKET DOOR DRAMA
Once the door hardware issue was resolved Brett was able to install the pocket door frame. Swipe below on the arrows to see the before and after of the pocket door frame. It is just a dry fit for now until tile is installed.
Drywall also get installed by the professionals. It is so fun to see a frame look like more of a room with the simple addition of drywall.
PAINT COLORS
Paint colors have been narrowed down to 2 colors (I think). My goal is to have a paint color that blends with the green tile without matching 100%. I’m leaning more towards the blue-green color on the left. Left is BM Yorktowne green and right is Tarrytown green.
